EMedical Billing Terms & Conditions
Data Protection Compliance
EMedical Billing is committed to upholding the highest standards of data protection in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in South Africa, and HIPAA if applicable for clients in the United States. Patient data and personal information are handled with strict confidentiality. Secure methods are employed to store, access, and manage all sensitive data. By engaging our services, you consent to the handling of data as required for billing and administrative purposes.
Billing Accuracy and Liability
While EMedical Billing makes every reasonable effort to ensure billing and coding accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all claims will be accepted by third-party payers without exception. In cases of unintentional errors or rejected claims due to third-party policies, EMedical Billing shall not be held liable for any resultant loss or damage. We work closely with healthcare providers to resolve errors and resubmit claims whenever feasible.
Non-Guarantee of Reimbursement
EMedical Billing cannot guarantee reimbursement or claim acceptance by insurance companies or third-party payers. Responsibility for understanding and meeting the reimbursement criteria of third-party payers rests with the healthcare provider. While EMedical Billing will use best efforts to assist in successful claim submission, we shall not be liable for non-reimbursement.
Client Responsibility for Billing Compliance
The healthcare provider holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring that patient services rendered are accurately documented and coded according to applicable billing guidelines. While EMedical Billing offers support and expertise in billing practices, compliance with medical billing regulations ultimately rests with the provider.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute regarding services provided by EMedical Billing, both parties agree to seek resolution through mediation as the first course of action. Should mediation fail, disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with South African arbitration laws, with each party bearing their respective costs.
